Wyder has given a Hastings school two new classrooms, an office and storage space thanks to a revolutionary eco extension.
Blacklands Primary Academy was desperate for space as demand for student places was rocketing, so Wyder worked with the school to develop a cost effective, environmentally friendly and inspirational learning space.
Wyder built a five room long term eco-friendly building as an extension to the current school in just two days – all done during the summer holidays to avoid disruption to the teachers and pupils.
The walls, floor and roof are insulated, so saving the school hundreds of pounds on their heating bills, but also keeping the classrooms nice and cool in the summer.
The materials that Wyder uses are from FSC forests. This special timber also helps to reduce carbon footprint. Take a look at our responsibilities section for more information on the products that we use in our building projects.
